Case Bound

For investors

Every custody app logs.
None of them read the order.

Case Bound reads a family court record, the docket, the orders, the messages, and checks what was ordered against what happened, with a page cite on every finding. It is a new category in a market where 72% of the parties have no lawyer.

Most losses are procedural. The record is the product.

01 — The gap

Seven products. All of them keep a diary. None of them read the court.

These are the custody-documentation apps a parent finds in September 2026. Each stores what a parent types. Not one ingests the court's order, reads it, and measures the record against it. That step is the difference between a diary and evidence, and it is the step Case Bound does. It matters because people without a lawyer lose 80 to 90 percent of the time, and most of those losses are on the record, not the merits.

02 — The product

It reads the record

Docket entries, orders, motions, exhibits, parenting-app exports, email, and a call log, extracted and indexed once. OCR when a scan needs it.

It cross-references

An order says eight calls. The log says five. Case Bound says so, cites the order's page and the log's rows, and waits for the parent to confirm.

It never decides

Every automated reading is a draft until a human confirms it against the source. That is a design boundary, and it is the unauthorized-practice-of-law posture.

It produces work product

Reviewed findings, a chronology, and an attorney packet a parent can hand to counsel. The lawyer is paid to think, not to read.

03 — Founder

Built by the customer.

Steve is a US Army aviation officer with two decades in special operations aviation, including developmental test and acquisition roles, and an Executive MBA candidate at Georgetown. He is also a parent who has spent years in family court, and Case Bound exists because he could not afford to have a lawyer read every filing in his own case.

The product has run on that case first: the full docket, every order and motion, and a year of parenting-app messages, before it ran on anyone else's. The founder is the first user, the first tester, and the person the product has to satisfy.

Founder-market fit is the traction at this stage. The rest is below.

04 — Where it stands

Built and running

  • Live on a real matter since 2025, every release verified against it.
  • Manual capture from Missouri Case.net via a browser extension; CSV import from any portal. Nothing polls a court.
  • Waitlist open at a founding-member price. Access rolls out in order.
  • Invitation-only by design while the product holds live legal records.

Built carefully

  • Row-level security on every table holding case data; access is enforced in Postgres, not only in the app.
  • No model key reaches the browser. No service-role key is used by the app.
  • Sensitive text never logged. Document content, prompts, and auth codes stay out.
  • Per-feature AI cost telemetry and centralized token budgets, so unit economics are measured, not guessed.
